We had lots of fun on 1 March, playing at two tables in Bristol’s raucously busy games café, Chance & Counters. One table played Adventureland, a beautiful and elaborate strategy game; the other, Karuba – all players have to get their pawns from the beach to temples in the jungle. The one classic game we played was Dixit, where punning and visual creativity were rewarded. Much fun was also had playing Joking Hazard, a card game where players have to construct a short cartoon narrative from mostly lewd pictures. Not for the faint-hearted, and alcohol did help! Everybody agreed that we should do this again, and so we will.
Bath-based Oxford alumnus, James Ellis, is seeking Patrons for his second novel, An Other’s Look.
