Anyone who has matriculated at the University of Oxford and who lives, works or has connections with Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire and the surrounding areas is welcome to become a member of OUSoc Bristol and Bath. We also welcome anyone with a strong connection to the University, for example those who have been a tutor, lecturer, or visiting fellow at Oxford.
After joining the Society, you will be among the first to learn about our events and activities, receive periodic email updates, and be able to stand for the committee positions.
The membership is free.

How do you start translating a text from one language to another? What are the main tools at a translator’s disposal? Is the source text more important than the reader of your translation? Christophe Fricker offers a hands-on workshop on these questions for both beginners and language connoisseurs.
We're holding our first OUSOC comedy night out (with optional disco!)
There are 3 comedians, followed by a rather good Motown disco from 10:30.
Tickets are £20 plus £1 booking fee. Meal packages available.
Come and join us for another board game night at Bristol’s Chance & Counters, the popular board game café and pub. No prerequisites – they have hundreds of board games of all kinds, and are very good at introducing you to new ones.
The café charges you £5 for your seat; food and drinks can be purchased. First come, first served: please email us if you would like to attend as spaces are limited.
Date and time: Thursday, 14 March 2019
Venue: Central Bristol
Book: The Dream of Enlightenment: The Rise of Modern Philosophy, Anthony Gottlieb
