Join Oxford University Society Bristol and Bath

Anyone who has matriculated at the University of Oxford and who lives, works or has connections with Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire and the surrounding areas is welcome to become a member of OUSoc Bristol and Bath. We also welcome anyone with a strong connection to the University, for example those who have been a tutor, lecturer, or visiting fellow at Oxford.

After joining the Society, you will be among the first to learn about our events and activities, receive periodic email updates, and be able to stand for the committee positions.

The membership is free.

Chocolate Tasting

Date and time: Tuesday 5 March, 7-9 pm
We had great fun tantalising our taste buds with delicious chocolate at our recent tasting event in Bath. Members commented that it was a real eye-opener y to focus on a product and also to sense how quality makes itself felt on your taste buds!

An Introduction to Translation

How do you start translating a text from one language to another? What are the main tools at a translator’s disposal? Is the source text more important than the reader of your translation?
